Position Summary

The Maintenance Supply Specialist is a member of the Maintenance Team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supply Specialist is accountable and responsible for maintenance supplies ordering, tracking, stocking, inventory control and direct communication with maintenance suppliers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

    • Data entry in multi-system platforms while generating and processing purchase orders to support plant production and maintenance departments
    • Regularly update and refine data within the CMMS to ensure accurate tracking of parts usage and inventory levels including regular monthly cycle counts and annual inventory audits
    • Review and provide recommendations for supplies cost savings
    • Compare and determine best cost/quality options for all materials ordered, while ensuring compliance to GMP and color-coding policies.
    • Review supply status with management weekly
    • Arrange for material shipments and deliveries
    • Ensure availability and condition of facility supplies
    • Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors
    • Ensure supply room operations are performed in accordance with approved procedures and company policy
    • Establish and maintain organizational standards for the parts room layout and storage systems.
    • Operate forklift as needed after proper training/certification
    • Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures and forms
    • Communicate with other shifts and supervisors/leaders via e-mail
    • Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained
    • Lead initiatives to streamline parts room operations and purchasing processes, leveraging technology and industry best practices
    • Other duties as directed or required.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be, or become forklift operator certified
  • 3-5 years of inventory experience
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed

Position Requirements

  • Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as needed
  • Must be able to oversee all efforts of the supply room
