Job Summary

The Sr. Mould Buyer shall be responsible for sourcing and procuring moulds and related accessories for all Anchor manufacturing plants. This role supports corporate procurement initiatives by identifying and evaluating suppliers, ensuring quality and on-time delivery, and negotiating contracts that align with operational and procurement goals. The Sr Mould Buyer collaborates closely with Mould Engineering, Design, Maintenance, Operations, and other internal teams to drive best practices, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and contribute to new product development through implementation.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of moulds, blanks, neck rings, guide rings, and related accessories. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, sourcing (RFQ), competitive bidding, financial analysis, contract negotiation, order placement, quality compliance, logistics (domestic/international), and issue resolution.
  • Lead supplier negotiations focusing on total cost of ownership (TCO) and driving cost savings. Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers in alignment with company policies and procurement best practices. Monitor contract compliance and service level agreements.
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality and specification requirements. Participate in scheduling and commercialization meetings. Share and apply best practices across plants and stakeholders.
  • Analyze spend patterns and total cost of ownership (including maintenance, operational, and administrative costs). Provide and assist with implementation of strategic recommendations for sourcing and cost optimization.
  • Conduct independent spend forecasting using multiple data sources. Support the annual operations planning process by negotiating pricing and improving forecasting across key categories.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve procurement processes, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Measure and report procurement KPIs including quality (e.g., DMRs) and on-time delivery. Recommend actions for continuous improvement and follow up on corrective action implementation.
  • Lead/participate in developing standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Provide procurement support for additional categories including MRO, services, packaging/dunnage, raw materials, sustainability initiatives, and capital or continuous improvement projects.

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience (5+ years) preferred.
  • Master’s degree or background in finance/supply chain strongly preferred.
  • Glass Container experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Power BI and MS Project a plus.
  • Experience with JD Edwards preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently
