The Discharge Operator shall operate in the functions with Coating and Stenciling description onto pipe materials, painting color bands on the tubes to visually identify them for the continuous operation of the Heat Treat in accordance with plant policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for inputting tube pipe information into the MES.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1.2. Read, write and speak English in a clear and effective manner.
1.3. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
1.4. Knowledge of OCTG manufacturing processes, API procedures, and operation.
1.5. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
1.6. Ability to read pie tape, dial and digital gages.
1.7. Ability to use saddle gage, coater dry and wet mil gage.
1.8. Visibility of work requires attention to detail and basic computer skills.
2.2 Proper stencil description on to tube pipe.
2.3 Keep track of Heat numbers and sequence count.
2.4 Responsible for checking coater and printer is properly serviced at start of shift.
2.5 Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
2.6 Marking all rework, re-straight, ovality, scrap with proper color code and grade bands.
2.7 Communicate the product details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
2.8 Proper shut down of coater and printer during downtime.
2.9 Complete all paper work accurately during shift.
2.10 Input information into M.E.S.
2.11 Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3.2. Check tube pipes for proper coating coverage and thickness.
3.3. Count tube pipes to every heat to maintain traceability.
3.4. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.

Reports to Department Supervisor Revision Date 9/30/2019
3.5. Maintain proper operation of his equipment.
3.6. This position may require operating a Forklift and Overhead Crane.
3.7. Complete Job Safety Analysis on a daily basis.
