Reporting to the Director, Fraud Prevention & Investigation, the Manager, Fraud Prevention & Investigations will lead complex investigations into allegations of fraudulent activity, theft or related policy violations for Nutrien globally.

This position may be located in Loveland, CO, Deerfield IL, or Washington D.C. and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

What You Will Do

  • Lead complex investigations of alleged or suspected employee fraud or theft including but not limited to:
    • Detailed examination and analysis of financial data and accounting entries, sales and inventory records and data, and other categories of records and data as required.
    • Conduct confidential interviews with employees and external individuals.
    • Prepare interim summaries and analyses of findings to internal and external stakeholder.
    • Draft detailed reports and correspondence regarding results and recommendations of the investigation.
    • Present findings and recommendations to management and law enforcement, as required.
  • Evaluate company processes to identify internal control weaknesses and potential for fraud risk, and develop recommendations to remediate and mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of proactive data analytics, monitoring and other forensic tools to detect patterns indicative of fraud across Nutrien’s global enterprise.
  • Monitor and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Fraud Prevention & Investigations function.
  • Maintain indepth knowledge of and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and monitor industry trends and regulatory changes and enforcement trends.
  • Work as needed with local law enforcement, state attorneys, and other government officials.
  • Assist in executing organization-wide training related to fraud awareness and prevention along with investigation processes and procedures.
  • Apply effective people leadership skills, providing guidance and support to the Fraud Prevention & Investigation team as well as the broader Integrity Group.
  • Other job responsibilities as required at Nutrien’s discretion.
What You Will Bring

  • Degree in Accounting Finance, Law or a related field of study; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional designation such as CPA, CFE, CIA, or CA8+ years of related experience in forensic fraud investigations, internal audit, public accounting, financial or data analyst, forensic accounting, investigations, or other industry experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience conducting fraud investigations, including 3 or more years leading investigations.
  • Experience in leveraging data analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Ability to lead people to achieve goals by providing clear directions and adapting one's leadership style as needed.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Well-developed problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective writing skills, including report writing and file documentation.
  • Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines, as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with a large ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Strong integrity and business ethics with the utmost discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Must be able to work as an effective and contributing member of a team or self-guided as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including international travel.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, and Washington, D.C., is between $79,100 - $135,500; and in Chicago, IL, is between $75,300 - $129,000. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee. Details will be discussed through the application process.
