Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with HR auditing and processes; make suggestions to improve department efficiency.
  • Update and work within HRIS for the company, demonstrating precise work and maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in insurance coverage, benefits deductions, income withholding orders, job title changes, department changes, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Assist with answering questions from team members regarding payroll, standard policies and procedures, benefits, code of conduct, etc.; escalate more complex questions to the appropriate Human Resources team member.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department as needed.
  • Assist with payroll functions including creating manual checks, processing, answering employee questions, and correcting processing errors.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding for multiple departments.
  • Verify I-9 documentation and maintain current records.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientation and related data entry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area preferred.
  • 2–3 years of office experience preferred.
  • If driving is required for this role, a clean driving record and a current, valid driver’s license are required.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
