What You’ll Do

The Workday Analyst II supports the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) modules to meet the needs of a dynamic healthcare environment. This role focuses heavily on the functional aspects of Workday, including configuration, business process development, testing, and partnership with HR stakeholders to ensure the system is aligned with our organization’s goals. This position requires a strong understanding of HR operations, especially in areas such as compensation administration, employee lifecycle processes, and organizational structures. The Workday Analyst II will serve as a trusted advisor and problem-solver to HR leaders, ensuring that Workday functionality supports accurate, compliant, and efficient HR practices across the health system.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities
  • Configure and maintain Workday core tenants and business functionality including business processes, custom objects, calculated fields, notifications, testing, reporting, dashboards, data integrity and user training for at least 2 modules
  • Participate in the ongoing design, configuration, deployment and maintenance of Workday configuration.
  • Maintain master data values in Workday (ex: Job Profile, Job Family, Job Group, Roles, Custom Organization Types, Positions, Locations)
  • Serve as an escalation resource for Tier 2 & 3 issues
  • Manage updates to supervisory organizations, cost center assignments, and position management frameworks.
  • Assist in configuring custom validations, condition rules, and alerts to improve data quality and compliance.
  • Serve as the HRIS partner supporting designated HCM areas in Workday, such as Core HR, Benefits, Talent, Advanced Compensation, etc.
  • Provide consultation to HR Business Partners and HR COEs, building domain knowledge, gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and business functions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, and Employee Relations to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.
  • Develop and deliver training, provide ongoing support, and address user queries to ensure effective system usage.
  • Provide input and knowledge sharing with Workday Team Lead, Workday Team Members, and clients as appropriate
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen
  • Support the testing and deployment of Workday semi-annual releases; analyze release notes, evaluate impacts, and execute functional testing.
  • Gather feedback from HR, IT, and business users to identify system improvement opportunities and propose practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members to perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate results prior to changes being moved to production.
  • Maintain data integrity across all HCM and Compensation elements by performing regular audits and working with HR teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and execute configuration changes to optimize functionality.
  • Stay informed on Workday updates and recommend adoption strategies for relevant features.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • 2+ years of Workday configuration experience, Experience with business processes and understanding of the employee/vendor lifecycle in a healthcare or complex organization. For internal applicants this may be substituted for internal advancement checklist
  • Clean Driving Record

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare organization or similar regulated environment.
  • Workday Pro Certification
