The Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for executing RedGuard’s safety program in alignment with the company’s safety culture. This role conducts routine facility inspections to identify potential or existing safety and health hazards, recommends corrective or preventive measures, and ensures their implementation. The Specialist advises the company on changes to health and safety regulations and ensures compliance with agencies such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, KDHE, TCEQ, and other client-required programs. Responsibilities include developing and delivering safety programs, conducting training, and ensuring permit requirements are met. Additionally, this role serves as the primary contact for maintaining the company’s DISA membership, overseeing pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing as required.

The Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for executing RedGuard’s safety program in alignment with the company’s safety culture. Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain RedGuard’s safety program, including inspections, environmental testing, hazard identification, and document control.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (OSHA, DOT, EPA, KDHE, TCEQ) and client-specific health and safety requirements.
- Conduct and coordinate safety and environmental audits, including sampling and measurements, to eliminate or control hazards.
- Monitor and manage company environmental programs, including storm water pollution, spill prevention, air quality, hazardous materials, and emergency response.
- Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses, reporting findings and preventive measures to management.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct employee training on safety regulations, hazard monitoring, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Lead and support Safety Advocate teams across facilities while representing the organization in industry and community safety groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety , Environmental Health, or related field and 3+ year of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of company safety and environmental policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to travel.
- Available in the evenings and weekends to respond to urgent or emergency calls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Possess the following Certificates: Fall Protection Training/Inspector, OSHA 10 Hour, First Aid CPR/AED/BPP.
- Experience in a Manufacturing or Construction Environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.
