Position Summary:

Detailed Responsibilities:
- HEARING SCREENING - Perform newborn and other hearing screenings as assigned; accurately record results
- HEARING LOSS - Record risk factors for late onset hearing loss; arrange return of high risk infants for monitoring of possible late onset hearing loss
- HEARING AID - Assist with hearing aid dispensing program
- PATIENT CARE - Assist in patient care procedures as needed.
- REGISTRATION - Interview patients and/or families to obtain demographic, financial information and signatures as required; schedule new and follow-up appointments
- DOCUMENTATION - Document patient care activities; process patient billing
- CLERICAL - Perform clerical functions as needed such as filing, typing, preparing minutes, reception desk coverage, photocopying, scanning, etc.
- SUPPLIES - Maintain supplies inventory in a neat and orderly manner; order and restock as necessary
- EQUIPMENT & RECORDS - Provide support and assistance in the areas of equipment calibration, maintenance and supply; monitor and maintain departmental data and records
- CUSTOMER RELATIONS - Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and Hospitals employees
- POLICY & PROCEDURE - Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards
- DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
- PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
- PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
- PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
- PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
- PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"

- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
