We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our Reliability Lab team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance and compliance of Molex interconnect solutions through advanced test and analysis. The ideal candidate will support validation efforts, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across lab operations.

You’ll be part of the Reliability Lab team based in Rochester Hills, MI, supporting product validation for Molex interconnect solutions. The team collaborates closely with engineering and technical support groups to ensure robust testing and continuous improvement across lab operations.

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our Reliability Lab team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance and compliance of Molex interconnect solutions through advanced test and analysis. The ideal candidate will support validation efforts, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across lab operations.
Our Team
You’ll be part of the Reliability Lab team based in Rochester Hills, MI, supporting product validation for Molex interconnect solutions. The team collaborates closely with engineering and technical support groups to ensure robust testing and continuous improvement across lab operations.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute test plans for mechanical, environmental, electrical, and high-speed digital validation.
- Utilize test equipment such as milliohm meters, digital power supplies, DAQ systems, environmental chambers, electrodynamic shakers, water spray systems, pressure/vacuum systems, and force test machines.
- Perform root cause analysis on test failures and provide technical insight to engineering and product development teams.
- Validate new test setups, equipment, and software through comparison testing and correlation studies.
- Generate detailed test reports, including unexpected findings and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of test procedures, setups, and results in accordance with Molex standards.
- Collaborate with design engineers and technical support teams to ensure test readiness and resolve challenges.
- Participate in lab process and specification meetings to share knowledge and support team development.
- Lead or support lab improvement projects and implement changes valuable to Molex and their customers.
- Provide theoretical and practical signal integrity (SI) training to test engineers and technicians.
- Stay current with industry trends and contribute to the evolution of Molex’s SI testing capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration experience.
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting standards in a lab environment.
- Understanding of high-speed signal test specifications and applications.
- Experience with Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and time-domain reflectometers.
- Prior experience in signal integrity testing and training.
- Background in continuous improvement or lean lab initiatives.
