School Registered Nurse | Aurora, Illinois

A full-time, certified school nurse position is available for the upcoming school year through May 2026, serving students in grades K-12 at a school located in Aurora, IL. This role focuses on providing comprehensive nursing services to a diverse student population, including those with moderate to severe disabilities and medically fragile conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assessments; develop detailed health histories for annual and reevaluation meetings.
• Maintain, evaluate, and interpret cumulative health data to support individualized student needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), identifying health-related needs and related services.
• Deliver direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency response for students and staff.
• Educate and support staff regarding student health needs and appropriate interventions.
• Prepare and submit all required documentation, including Medicaid billing, in a timely manner.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid, active Registered Nurse license issued by the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulations.
• Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educators License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement.
• Preferred experience in pediatric, special needs, or school-based nursing.
• Experience in writing and implementing IEPs and medical service plans.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel throughout the school district as needed.
