Summary
The Respiratory Technician applies equipment and performs therapeutic modalities to patients demonstrating abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system under the supervision/direction of a registered respiratory therapist.

The Respiratory Technician applies equipment and performs therapeutic modalities to patients demonstrating abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system under the supervision/direction of a registered respiratory therapist.
Responsibilities
- Applies equipment and procedures to patients demonstrating abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
- Performs procedures verified by their Verification of Work Form from their accredited respiratory care program and must pass skills and competency for those procedures approved.
- Works under the direction/supervision of a registered respiratory therapist.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Other duties as required.
Technical Expertise
- Experience in respiratory care is required.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Electronic health record software used for inpatient care is preferred.
- Education: Must be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Certification: Valid Ohio Limited Permit is required. Current Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.
- Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None.
