Registered Nurse School Setting - Santa Ana, CA

A Certified School Nurse (CSN) is needed for a contract position supporting K-12 schools in the Santa Ana, CA area from September 22nd to December 12th. This role involves overseeing vision screenings using a new digital device that captures images of students eyes. The nurse will be supported by a medical assistant who performs much of the hands-on work, while the CSN ensures compliance and supervises the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee vision screenings conducted with advanced digital imaging technology
• Supervise medical assistant during screening activities to ensure accuracy and safety
• Maintain documentation and reporting as required by the school district
• Provide professional nursing oversight during school health activities
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential
• Experience working in K-12 school settings preferred
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with medical assistants effectively
• Knowledge of school health policies and procedures
  
  

Schedule & Location:

• Monday through Wednesday, flexible scheduling with some variability on Wednesdays
• Assignments at various schools within the San Juan Capistrano area
  
  

This is a contract assignment spanning the fall months, with payment provided for a full day regardless of early departure. Applicants must be ready to start promptly and maintain compliance with all nursing regulations.
