Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. We integrate academic rigor, community, family, and wellness to empower students to thrive in a culturally connected and changing world. Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Currently, CNCA has six campuses that serve approximately 3,500 students from TK through 12th grade.

Under the supervision of Expanded Learning Coordinators, the Expanded Learning One to One Program Aide has the opportunity to supervise students individually during Expanded Learning Programming to establish a culture of educational excellence through a holistic approach to Expanded Learning programming. The Expanded Learning One to One Program Aide ensures student safety and compliance with school and CNCA policies and regulations.

3:00-6:00pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) and Thursdays 12:30-6:00

Under the supervision of Expanded Learning Coordinators, the Expanded Learning One to One Program Aide has the opportunity to supervise students individually during Expanded Learning Programming to establish a culture of educational excellence through a holistic approach to Expanded Learning programming. The Expanded Learning One to One Program Aide ensures student safety and compliance with school and CNCA policies and regulations.
Essential Functions
- Create a safe and welcoming program culture for all students and staff
- Supervise students while they participate in Expanded Learning programming to ensure student safety
- Monitor student behavior, deter and modify inappropriate student behaviors of a relatively minor nature and reports serious infractions to school administrators for possible disciplinary action
- Learn and safely implement approved techniques, such as CPI for restraining students
- Provide individual positive behavior intervention during expanded learning programs including prompt and/or re-direct students to participate in assigned tasks and activities
- Review and implement individualized behavioral plans for assigned student(s),
- Collaborate and communicate frequently with Expanded Learning Coordinators, Woodcraft Ranger Site Coordinators, and other stakeholders
- Attend and participate in all relevant training sessions, meetings and professional growth activities as requested and/or required
- Respect confidential nature of pupil records and school reports
- Show patience, respect and compassion in working with students
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Other duties as assigned
3:00-6:00pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) and Thursdays 12:30-6:00
- Will be invited to work additional days for professional development or other needs. Opportunities will be extended in writing by the Senior Director of Expanded Learning

Qualifications
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Associates degree or a minimum of at least 48 semester units (60 quarter units) required
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- 1-2 years' experience working in urban schools or in organizational operations
- Prior experience working with students in special education in an academic or recreational setting preferred
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment required
- Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive energy and the ability to be a strong role model for students
