Salary: $120,000-160,000

Contract Length: 6 Months

Location: Dallas, TX - In office 3 days but could be 5 depending on organization needs and company policies.

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Service Virtualization Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining service virtualization solutions to support application testing teams. This role focuses on enabling teams to simulate services and data, eliminating dependencies on unavailable systems, and accelerating integration and performance testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement virtual solutions to simulate APIs and applications.
• Create and maintain virtual services, data models, and performance simulations to support faster testing and shorter delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to identify opportunities for improvement in service virtualization and performance engineering.
• Quickly learn application architectures and priorities, providing actionable feedback while adhering to enterprise governance standards.
• Generate and simulate virtualized services using tools such as Broadcom DevTest (VSI/VSM creation, recording, and simulation).
• Monitor and analyze test execution results, recommend additional virtualization opportunities, and educate teams on best practices.
• Integrate virtualized services into CI/CD pipelines and support a shift toward Test-Driven Development and "shift-left" testing practices.
• Partner with Environment/Release Management teams to optimize environment utilization when physical application availability is limited.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Expertise with service virtualization tools (Broadcom DevTest strongly preferred: Workstation, Portal, VSE, Registry, Simulator, Coordinator). Experience with WireMock is a plus.
• Strong understanding of testing frameworks and tools; proficiency in Java and JavaScript (Python experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI a plus).
• Knowledge of performance testing artifacts, non-functional requirements, and metrics evaluation.
• Experience with REST and SOAP APIs, MQ/JMS messaging, and XML/JSON data protocols.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with flexibility for occasional overtime when necessary.
