Georgia-Pacific in San Leandro, CA is hiring an Oiler! Are you committed to safety and enjoy working as part of a team? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! As an Oiler, you'll play a key role in maintaining the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance, which helps to increase uptime and reliability. Your work will directly contribute to the facility’s ability to meet production and quality goals.

Shift Details

  • This position requires 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with the option of working either day or evening shifts.
  • Full-time schedule: 40+ hours per week with flexible weekday shifts.
  • Overtime is available.

Salary

  • This position offers a pay rate of $26.71 per hour.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Help to meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
  • Responsible for managing the critical assets and manufacturing equipment lubrication program
  • Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner
  • Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manual for equipment pertaining to the business to aid in performing tasks
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume environment
  • Support our safe working environment by maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Able to work a modified shift schedule that includes all shutdown days/weekends.

Basic Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring

  • At least two (2) years in manufacturing working with high-speed automated systems or processes
  • Experience working with Microsoft Suite and computerized maintenance management system

Preferred Qualifications

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Technical schooling earned or other related educational certifications/degrees
  • Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors and mechanical equipment
  • Experience checking, adding, and changing out lubricants, correctly identifying proper lubricants for an application and demonstrate proper storage and handling
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment

For this role, we anticipate paying $26.71 per hour.
