Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Leadership
- Define multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with corporate and divisional objectives.
- Serve as a trusted adviser to senior executives, translating complex technology into clear business value.
- Demonstrate high emotional intelligence (EQ) in leadership.
- Balance historical industry experience with a forward-looking approach to transformation and innovation.
- Experience in a product/software-based environment is considered beneficial.
- Guide business cases, investment decisions, and portfolio execution.
- Develop and steward the enterprise architecture blueprint to support business agility, performance, and security across domains.
- Establish enterprise standards for secure coding, clean architecture, automated testing, and CI/CD at scale.
- Oversee the design and delivery of high-volume, mission-critical applications and APIs.
- Lead build-vs-buy assessments, technical due-diligence reviews, and system-integration patterns.
- Promote microservices, event-driven design, and cloud-native best practices.
- Guide solution design and delivery to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
- Identify and prioritize pragmatic use cases for AI/ML, IoT, data products, and automation, guiding pilots through to scaled delivery
- Execute an innovation funnel of prototypes and proofs of concept, evaluating technical feasibility and business value.
- Partner with universities, startups, and vendors to accelerate experimentation and co-innovation.
- Monitor industry trends—including cloud, DevSecOps, AI/ML, edge, and quantum—and convert insights into actionable capabilities.
- Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing, diverse global team of engineers, architects, and data specialists.
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and inclusion, and build architecture awareness and digital fluency across the enterprise.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards at both enterprise and product levels.
- Architect digital quality systems for complaint handling, post-market surveillance, and process automation.
- Deliver secure, compliant solutions in regulated environments.
- Architect and modernize MES, PLM, ERP, and supply chain systems.
- Enable unified data strategy, real-time observability, and AI/ML integration.
- Support scalable growth and operational continuity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: 12+ years of technology leadership, including 5+ years overseeing software engineering and architecture teams.
- Technical Mastery: Proven delivery of large scale, highly available systems using microservices, event streaming, and public cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Working knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, C#), AI/ML platforms, data engineering pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to align technology roadmaps with business objectives.
- Innovation Mindset: Track record of fostering experimentation, rapid prototyping, and continuous improvement; familiar with design thinking or lean startup frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, APIs, microservices, and predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with EA tools, ITIL frameworks, agile methodologies, and financial modeling.
- Effective leadership and consulting skills with strong stakeholder management.
- Ability to translate complex strategies into actionable roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
