Education

  • Bachelor’s in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • Master’s with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree Salary: Competitive, based on experience and location Certifications: DoD 8570 Compliant (Security+ or equivalent/higher) required; Citrix and/or AWS certifications preferred

Overview

Metronome has an exciting opportunity for a Windows System Engineer with hands-on system administration experience to support cloud-based systems for mission-critical operations. You’ll join a team responsible for the operation and sustainment of multiple cloud-deployed geospatial solutions, working across installation, configuration, administration, and support of both Windows systems and Citrix-based desktops. This role is ideal for a self-starter eager to solve complex problems and drive improvements in high-visibility, mission-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a leadership role in system changes and improvements.
  • Collaborate with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and resolve complex user incident reports.
  • Recommend configuration changes to improve system performance.
  • Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments.
  • Update and maintain critical databases with new data.
  • Author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
  • Support cloud-based Windows and Citrix administration.

Required Skills

Required Skills

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • DoD 8570 certification (Security+ or higher).
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and system administration.
  • Experience completing security remediation tasks based on scan results.
  • Hands-on Citrix administration experience.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, architecture, and software development/sustainment practices.
  • Experience with AWS architectures and services (S3, EC2, Reserved Instances).
  • Familiarity with Git/GitLab or similar source code control tools.
  • Ability to produce systems engineering documentation (VDDs, diagrams, etc.).
  • Familiarity with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
