This role is responsible for supervising daily branch activities, supporting staff, and maintaining operational excellence. Austin Telco Federal Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to lead teller operations and ensure exceptional member service. This role is responsible for supervising daily branch activities, supporting staff, and maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, banking experience, and a member-first mindset.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise tellers in processing counter, mail, and phone transactions
- Open and close the branch and oversee daily operations
- Provide accurate, courteous service to members in person and by phone
- Open new accounts and assist with loans, IRAs, HSAs, CDs, and business accounts
- Maintain and balance cash drawers and vaults
- Assist with fraud/dispute paperwork and issue stop-payments and cards
- Support mobile deposits and online account services
- Lead audits, cash ordering, and vault balancing
- Serve as acting branch manager when needed
- Promote credit union products and services through cross-selling
- Attend training sessions and support continuous improvement
- Lead and coach branch staff to ensure high performance and member satisfaction
- Assign and direct daily work, assess performance, and provide feedback
- Resolve conflicts and support professional development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a credit union or bank
- Strong communication, reasoning, and math skills
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., calculators, scanners, coin counters)
- Familiarity with security procedures and fraud/dispute processes
- Regular and punctual attendance is essential
- Must be available for occasional afterhours, weekend, and on-call support
- Ability to work independently and handle branch operations in manager’s absence
