- Applications received after Sept 30th will be reviewed in January 2026***
One-year hands-on ministry experience with real ownership, intentional mentorship, and a front row seat to how ministry works. This isn’t a “watch from the sidelines” kind of role. As a ministry resident, you’ll help shape and lead this ministry, while growing as a disciple and as a leader:
- Be the point person for all volunteer leads during weekly services – leading leaders and ensuring things run smoothly.
- Specifically assist with the discipleship of male volunteers to help them grow as followers of Jesus as they serve.
- Oversee monthly hangouts (aka fun / late nights) with a volunteer team that are easy invites for young adults to bring friends to.
- Meet weekly with 2-3 young adults for intentional discipleship and spiritual development.
- Receive regular mentorship and discipleship from staff and leaders who are for your growth.
- Join all staff meetings and gatherings to get a full behind-the scenes look at church life and leadership.
- Sit on the Young Adults Leadership Team, contributing to big picture planning, sermon series brainstorming, and strategy decisions.
- Host and teach in services as opportunities arise.
- You’re comfortable representing Preston Trail’s mission, beliefs, and values (check them out here).
- You love Jesus and want to help others know Him, too.
- You’re passionate about building community and reaching people far from God.
- You’re a people person – relational, approachable, and excited to grow in leading others.
- You’re flexible and a self-starter, not afraid to try new things in a fast-paced, start-up style ministry.
- You’re dependable and organized, able to manage details, and follow through on projects.
- You’re excited about building something new and contributing to a mission bigger than yourself.
- You call Preston Trail home. You’re planted here, engaged in worship, and involved in community. (or are comfortable committing to be)
- You’re exploring what ministry might look for you, and you’re excited to learn more.
- You’re able to invest 10-15 hours a week including some scheduled meetings and Thursday night services, with the remainder of your time being flexible based on your schedule.
- Must complete both the Employment Application and Assessment here within 2 business days of applying
- You’re able to commit to the residency while maintaining outside income, utilizing this $400/month stipend as supplemental income and not necessary for funding normal living costs.
