The Role
ProAg is seeking a Product Owner, ideally located in our Maple Grove, MN office, to lead the transformation of how we serve our customers—agents, farmers, and ranchers, and our employees—through research-driven insights, seamless user experiences, and innovative product strategies.
In this pivotal role, this individual will be a lead user of ProAg’s products. As features are prioritized, the Product Owner will be responsible for working with the scrum team to deliver features to production. This position will partner with key stakeholders to analyze potential features that could be developed within our products. The individual will have full understanding on products user workflow, backend processes and potential change impact.
Whether refining existing offerings or launching entirely new solutions, your leadership will directly impact how we grow, retain, and serve our customers, making crop insurance easier for those who depend on it most.

In This Exciting Opportunity You Will
- Understand and interpret all Risk Management Agency (RMA) and National Crop Insurance Service (NCIS) changes. This includes identifying application changes, business changes and policy language changes which will affect business processes and customer workflows.
- Contribute to the creation of the product vision created by Product Manager and alignment with strategic priorities within Product Team
- Collaboratively build product roadmap and collaborate with Product Team to review product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria based on strategy and ongoing input from stakeholders.
- Communicate expected value and any changes in value to by iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly, etcetera) based on the empowered team’s capacity.
- Contribute to aligning development and business goals and priorities by collaborating with stakeholders and the squad/team to remove roadblocks to execution.
- Provide insight and expertise on regulatory, compliance, and other crop insurance industry constraints on the product and prioritize accordingly.
The ideal candidate for the Product Owner position will have demonstrated success in the primary areas of focus and responsibility.
- Experience – Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of eight years of relevant and progressive professional experience
- Eight years of progressive experience in software application development preferred.
- Experience with an Agile environment is required
- Hands on experience managing all stages of the development life cycle
- Experience in Microsoft, Cloud, and Office 365 is preferred.
- Communications:
- Must be an exceptional communicator, with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Skill in translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and fostering stakeholder alignment
- Must be able to cater communication to both a technical and business level.
- Educational requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, UI/UX Design, Product Management or Marketing
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strategic Leadership: Ability to align product vision with organizational goals and drive execution across cross-functional teams.
- Technical Acumen: Proficiency in product lifecycle tools (e.g., Jira, Pendo), and experience integrating precision ag data into product workflows.
- User-Centered Approach: Passion for improving customer experiences through research, feedback, and iterative design.
- Crop Insurance Expertise: Strong understanding of crop insurance workflows and regulatory frameworks (RMA, NCIS).
- Leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance product decision-making, streamline workflows, and improve user experiences.
