**Major Duties**

  • ...stand up and implementation of hardware and software, monitoring DLA's enterprise network performance/availability and making recommendations to DLA HQ and DISA on bandwidth issues affecting the DLA wide area network environment.
  • Responsible for the proper management, reporting, and updating of DLA IT Asset Management (ITAM) databases.
  • Approves multi-year plans for network /telecommunications evolution designed to meet DoD requirements and attain DLA strategic goals and objectives through variable combinations of staffing, employee training/retraining, outsourcing and contracting.
  • Manages changes to these plans necessitated by policy and funding changes made during both the DOD budgeting process and the Congressional appropriations process.
  • Ensures continuing technical liaison with DISA and private external service providers as well as with DLA's customer and user community (i.e., DFAS and other DOD/government agencies, the Military Services and DLA's suppliers).
  • Directs initiatives to adopt and prioritize projects and project improvements.
  • Ensures availability of adequate resources to perform any and all approved initiatives. Interprets and implements policies and directives from Headquarters DLA and other staff offices.

**Qualification Summary**

To qualify for a Supervisory IT Specialist (NETWORK/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Oversees the planning, direction and timely execution of the network /telecommunications plans as the technology articulation of DLA's corporate vision, goals and objectives. Assures synergistic relationship between network /telecommunications plans and the DLA Strategic Plan. Planning, design and implementation of network infrastructure, network engineering support functions, Configuration Management (CM), and DLA IT Asset Management (ITAM) databases. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
