Controller / CFO

Job Title: Controller
Location: Orange County, California (On-site/Commutable)

We are an exciting new insurance company, poised for growth, and seeking a Controller to lead our finance and accounting function. This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level of a dynamic organization and play a key role in shaping its financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of finance and accounting, including general ledger, financial reporting, AP/AR, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements within the insurance industry.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a growing organization.
• Partner with leadership to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations.
• Manage and mentor a growing finance team as the company scales.
• Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader, ideally within insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, statutory reporting, and internal controls.
• Hands-on experience across all areas of finance and accounting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
• Must be based in or commutable to Orange County, California.
