Role Specific Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities
- Daily Unit operations
- Units running efficiently and meeting Product specification.
- Review Prior Night shift Log, Runsheets and Analytical results.
- Unit Training: Grade operator’s Runbook Test, review with operators.
- Planning: Raw materials, Product and waste; Tankage, transportation.
- Review Permits: Make sure proper procedures are followed.
- Review Procedures: Process runbook procedures, SOP’s.
- Walk Plant: Housekeeping, following plant SOP procedures.
- Project material balance, Timeline and Inventory.
- Review all paperwork is completed, this includes inventory documents, waste inspection forms, waste water log and shipping and receiving forms.
- Raw Material Inventory
- Write Standard Operating procedures.
- Operator training program.
- Waste Drum Labeling.
- Ordering supplies needed for Analytical procedures.
- Write daily Orders for night Shift. And direct daily operations.
- Work with maintenance for scheduling repairs.
- Weekend “On Call”.
- Incorporate new ISO procedures for ISO covered new products
- Pre Startup safety review
- Safe operability and Environmental review
- Waste water discharge
- Operations project manual training
- Compliance with all Company regulatory standards
- Setup GCs & other lab equipment for raw material, in-process, and final product testing prior to each campaign.
- Change out GC columns as needed
- Validate method and align peaks as needed against standards
- Troubleshoot GC problems
- Adjust length of GC column if needed
- Replace various small parts as needed
- Setup GCs & other lab equipment for raw material, in-process, and final product testing prior to new products.
- Gather analytical information for new product testing
- Change out GC columns as needed
- Validate method and align peaks as needed against standards
- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times
- Active participation in continuous improvement activities
- Participates in problem-solving
- Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
- Assists in the training, mentoring and assessment of other team members
- Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Process Operator (PTEC) degree preferred
- 10+ years of chemical operations supervision (including equipment operation and shift personnel leadership) preferred
- Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated strong computer, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment within a multi-functional, organizational structure and exhibit robust interpersonal skills
- Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive, physical work such as lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
