General Summary
The Senior Clinical Pharmacy Analyst leads initiatives that enhance medication-use technology across the health system. This role provides expert configuration and strategic oversight of pharmacy informatics systems, ensuring alignment with organizational safety, compliance, and quality goals.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan
- State of Michigan Controlled Substance License (current or eligible)
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in pharmacy informatics or clinical systems support.
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacy informatics systems and medication-use workflows.
- Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy IT initiatives, compliance, or safety strategy.
- Excellent project management, collaboration, and mentorship skills.
- PGY2 residency in informatics or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certification in Epic Willow and/or Epic Ambulatory (CAM), Beacon preferred.
- Master’s degree in health informatics, public health, or related field preferred
- Board certification such as BCPS preferred.
- Serve as lead analyst for medication-related build projects, EMR optimization, and safety-related enhancements.
- Provide expert-level configuration of drug records, alerts, decision support tools, and related systems.
- Mentor junior analysts and participate in onboarding/training of informatics pharmacists.
- Represent pharmacy informatics in interdisciplinary and enterprise-wide workgroups and governance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and informatics solutions in collaboration with clinical leadership.
- Approve critical production changes, including ERx builds, ensuring safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead analysis and design for ambulatory and specialty pharmacy builds (e.g., CAM, Beacon, therapy plans).
- Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
