At DreamWorks Animation Television, the Production Coordinator would assist the Production Manager and the HUB Director with maintaining quotas and deadlines and ensuring departmental productivity goals are consistently met on the HUB and other CG Productions.

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

“What would you say you do here?”

  • Coordinates communication and shipping/receiving of materials to Partner Studios and ensures that the work is labeled and filed properly
  • Assist HUB Management and Show Production Teams with everyday needs
  • Assist with Marketing needs, including planning and scheduling as well as facilitating communication and shipments between DreamWorks and Partner Studios
  • Works with Partner Studios to give production and pipeline support, tracking issues, routing issues to the corresponding department and managing communication for problem solving and scheduling
  • Assist with problem solving and developing production workflows and tools
  • Attend early morning and after hour meetings as needed
  • Ensures procedures for CG asset build are followed to ensure workflow from DreamWorks HUB Team is as seamless as possible
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors/artists regarding deadlines
  • Maintains daily output information of CG, Pipeline and Marketing Departments
  • Perform daily check-ins with members of production, artists and supervisors to determine the status of work on the show
  • Maintains Demo Reel requests in a timely matter
  • Stays abreast of issues on the floor, anticipates potential issues and elevates information to Production Manager and HUB Director
  • Respond to all production-related communications in a timely manner as well as gather and distribute production materials
  • Before materials are sent to Partner Studios, oversee the process of quality control such as CG assets, design pack noting, and all reference material
  • Learns the necessary computer programs and network directory system
  • Maintains Flow (Shotgrid) accounts and tasks in a timely manner
  • Willing to take on new challenges in order to have a more detailed knowledge of the department and pipeline.
  • Responsible for various daily office activities: schedules meetings, books rooms, prepares materials for shipments, types up notes and distributes accordingly
  • Maintain a close partnership with the Pipeline Team, tracking issues and tool tasks as needed
  • Assist with expense reports and travel planning
  • Available to be in office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and work from home on Friday, this schedule is subject to change based on DreamWorks studio policies

Qualifications

“What do I need to have in order to do this job?”

  • Software requirements: Flow, JIRA, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel, Gmail and knowledge of production tracking databases
  • Deep knowledge of CG animation terminology i.e., modeling, uv’s, rigging, textures, animation, compositing, lighting, and FX
  • Experience working with Partner Studios
  • Strong understanding of the CG Pipeline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment

“What can I offer?”

  • Minimum 2 years of previous TV animation production experience required
  • At least 1- 4 years of professional experience working within a 3D production pipeline
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience with Maya or equivalent software with knowledge spanning some or all of the following departments is preferred: modeling, uv’s, rigging, textures, animation, lighting, and/or FX
  • Experience with Nuke, After Effects, Premiere, is a plus

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $59,800 - $68,900
