Job Summary
The School of Dentistry is looking to recruit a Development Generalist to join the Development and Alumni Relations team. You will report to the Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Engagement. A hybrid schedule is a possibility in this position. Candidates must be available to work on-site at least 3-4 days per week at the School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

- Manage Major Gifts prospect data and provide expert document review (aka proofreading)
- Provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer
- Support events planning, execution, and wrap-up activities at the direction of the Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Engagement
- Draft concise professional emails, memos, and reports tailored to multiple audiences
- Support the physical Office of Alumni Relations and Development's daily operations and appearance
- Lead planning and execution of student philanthropy events such as Hail Yeah, Giving Blueday, and other engagement events for students
- Partner with the Assistant Director for Alumni & Donor Engagement for the creation and implementation of a culture of philanthropy with students, staff, and related digital fundraising campaigns, such as crowdfunding or other micro campaigns
- Lead in maintaining and improving stewardship, gift processing, and the acknowledgement letter process
- Provide individualized prospect research to support the donor work of gift officers, the dean, and key stakeholders
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Development Officer and Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Engagement; as part of a small unit, collaboration, and ability to take on other duties as needed by the Office of Alumni Relations and Development or the School of Dentistry are imperative.
- Bachelor's degree with at least one year of experience in a development or fundraising environment/office
- Significant experience with MS Office and Google Suite
- Ability to work individually and as a team member to set priorities and handle multiple assignments and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in proofreading
- Working limited nights and weekends, and traveling short distances to in-state events, is required
