We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our high-speed manufacturing team. This role demands flexibility to meet dynamic production requirements, including frequent rework of non-conforming outsourced materials to meet critical deadlines. You will operate precision equipment and produce or rework parts to extremely tight tolerances. This is a temp to hire opportunity!

• Estimated Hours per Week: 40+ hours with overtime
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Pacific Time)
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, balancing machines, and spin test equipment
• Perform highly sensitive machining tasks with precision
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production
• Take precise measurements for cutting, shaping, or modifying components
• Select appropriate machines, tools, and settings for each job
• Adapt tasks and processes based on real-time production needs
• Support on-time delivery (OTD) by addressing bottlenecks, particularly with sensitive parts
• Inspect finished products for quality; document or discard defects as necessary
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals
• Rework or finish defective materials supplied by others as needed
  
  

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in machining or manufacturing assembly
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and machining operations
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and understanding ANSI Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  
  

Skills and Abilities:

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent mechanical and coordination skills
• Proficient in basic arithmetic and computer operations
• Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Ability to lift 20-50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
• Comfortable working at heights up to 10 ft and operating a forklift
• Strong team collaboration skills, especially with Engineering, Quality, and HSE teams
