The Roads and Highways Practice is seeking an Engineer-in-Training in Tri-Cities, Spokane WA, Coeur d’Alene, Pocatello or Boise, ID.
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
- Prepares and designs improvement plans for a wide range of transportation projects
- Prepares and/or modifies construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for projects
- Analyzes maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects
- Assists with post design construction support services to respond to contractor RFI’s, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations
- May perform construction inspection on project-specific basis
- Coordinates work with other disciplines and offices on multi-discipline projects
- Assists with utility coordination including conflict analysis and coordination with public and private utility companies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 0-4 years of Civil Engineering experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiar with Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads
- Drafting and design experience with Bentley OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D for the design of alignments and 3D design surfaces
- Engineer-in-Training Certification
- Transportation project experience
- Construction experience
- 1+ years of experience designing transportation projects
