Equipment Field Mechanic
Chesapeake Automotive Equipment is a leading provider of automotive equipment, serving body shops, service centers, heavy-duty repair facilities, and dealership groups. We supply and service lifts, compressors, and advanced repair tools that keep the automotive industry running smoothly.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Equipment Field Mechanic to install, maintain, and repair automotive equipment. This role involves working directly with clients to ensure their shops are equipped with safe, fully operational machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Install automotive equipment such as lifts, compressors, and repair tools
Perform maintenance and service tasks to ensure safe and efficient operation
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
Conduct on-site assessments for installation and repair needs
Work independently on service calls and installations while maintaining professional communication with customers
Keep detailed records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance recommendations
Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
Manage tools, equipment, and inventory for daily service operations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED required; technical certifications a plus)
4-7 years of experience installing and servicing automotive equipment, including lifts and compressors
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Experience working in automotive shop environments
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Role requires handling equipment up to 75 lbs in various conditions
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
