Position Summary :In partnership with the Chief Program Officer, the Vice President leads efforts to stabilize and enhance the Brooklyn and Bronx Prevention and Safe Homes Project/Rapid Rehousing Domestic Violence Programs. This role advances initiatives that expand and strengthen counseling, advocacy, and support services for children, youth, families, and the broader community.

Position Summary :In partnership with the Chief Program Officer, the Vice President leads efforts to stabilize and enhance the Brooklyn and Bronx Prevention and Safe Homes Project/Rapid Rehousing Domestic Violence Programs. This role advances initiatives that expand and strengthen counseling, advocacy, and support services for children, youth, families, and the broader community.
Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Good Shepherd Services Executive Team to develop and execute the organization's strategic planning.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and hands-on implementation support to department heads, ensuring effective communication and coordination across several Prevention Programs in Brooklyn & Bronx along with GSS Safe Homes Programs.
- Oversee the implementation of key initiatives and projects, monitoring progress and ensuring timely completion.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and funders.
- Ensure all programs adhere to and surpass contractual agreements with funders
- Provide consistent supervision to program leaders to develop their leadership and management skills using an anti-racist practice that incorporates the principles of youth and family development and trauma-informed practice.
- In conjunction with program leadership, support mechanisms to strengthen and develop the case management, counseling, and clinical skills of staff to ensure high quality services are consistently offered to participants and families.
- Regularly convene staff to participate in shared learning forums where clinical best practices are elevated and highlighted.
- Support the implementation, training, fidelity, and skill development of staff for Solution-Based Casework (SBC) for all prevention programs, including supporting staff certification in the model.
- Directly supervise the Model Implementation Manager to advance the administration and practice of specific models used within the programs.
- Collaborate with program directors to develop advocacy strategies needed for community-based work.
- Conceive, develop, and implement programming in collaboration with the Chief Program Officer that is responsive to service delivery and advocacy relevant to the community.
- Monitor the administration of program contracts by actively reviewing compliance and reporting requirements for each program funding source.
- Prepare and monitor program budgets in collaboration with the Fiscal Department.
- Facilitate the offers of donors, volunteers, and interns to enhance program services by receiving goods, services, and volunteer work to benefit families.
- Review, analyze and respond to appropriate Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- In collaboration with Impact & Evaluation, assist in the development and implementation of Quality Improvement mechanisms and procedures to ensure excellence in programs.
- Act as liaison to the larger community as appropriate, including membership on relevant committees, representation and/or participation in community, city, state and federal meetings and committees.
- Actively participate in the Agency Leadership Team and support other agency work groups and initiatives as appropriate.
- Master’s in Social Work Required. NYS LCSW Required.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role (10+ years), with a track record of driving organizational growth and success, in the nonprofit and/or social service sector.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Extensive knowledge of the social service sector and familiarity with current trends and best practice.
- Strong financial acumen and successful experience in budget management.
- Proven experience (10 years) in Child Welfare Programs including but not limited too Prevention; Domestic Violence/Rapid Re Housing required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

- Bilingual Spanish Preferred
