Maintenance Technician

Position: Mechanic Reports to: Supervisor

Location: Pasadena, TX FLSA: Non Exempt Hours: days

Who we are: One of the largest producers of bulk synthetic grade granular ammonium sulfate in the world, all products are produced to consistent material specifications and reliable quality to exceed the industry standard.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Able to perform tasks across multiple trades or disciplines
• Identify issues and then repair/replace in various plant systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, rotating, stationery and other equipment located in the facility
• Reading and understanding technical drawings and schematics to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Use of both personal and company supplied tools and equipment to perform daily work assignments
• Maintain a safe workplace and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel toe boots and gloves.
• Ensure proper placement, balance, alignment when performing daily work assignments
• Work at considerable heights safely and efficiently
  
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and other related trades
• Broad skillset and the ability to adapt to various tasks within an industrial plant setting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and other related trades
  
  
  

Required Education/Experience:

• Must have a valid TWIC card and driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
• Basic math and reading skills
• Computer skills
• Must be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision with drive toward accomplishment, and to produce high quality work.
• NCCR, NCCO, ABC, Apprenticeships, or other accredited qualifications/certifications
  
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to dust/dirt/fumes
• Ability to wear applicable PPE as needed
• Ability to distinguish colors and shading
• Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking for 8 – 12-hour shifts
• Bending and twisting; repetitive movements
• Lift, push and pull 50 lbs. independently
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
