Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
- Handle accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely vendor payments and collections
- Process payroll and maintain up-to-date employee records
- Prepare monthly financial statements and job cost reports
- Manage bank reconciliations and credit card transactions
- Complete progress billing (AIA forms) and track retainage
- Monitor project budgets and track job-specific expenses
- Coordinate with project managers on purchase orders and change orders
- Prepare and file sales tax reports, 1099s, and other compliance documents
- Communicate with CPA on year-end closings and tax prep
- Maintain subcontractor insurance certificates and compliance documentation
- 3-5+ years of construction bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction billing methods
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organization
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexible schedule and potential for hybrid work arrangement
