  • Assignment Type: Travel/Contract (Locum Tenens)
  • Start Date: November 11, 2025
  • End Date: February 10, 2026
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Weekly Hours: 36
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Unit Details: 16-bed MICU with advanced technology and interdisciplinary support
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1980–$2030

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (required for NY nursing jobs)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent MICU/critical care nursing experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical records (required)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for critical care nurse roles)
  • Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from Rochester, NY
  • First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!

MICU RN Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
  • Manage complex diagnoses: sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure/shock, and more
  • Operate advanced critical care equipment: CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO
  • Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 (occasional 1:1 based on patient acuity)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, PT, RT, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
  • Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
  • Complete orientation and required training modules prior to assignment start
