Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure facility meets minimum staffing levels and post nurse staffing data as required
- Monitor and oversee completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) for residents with significant status changes
- Ensure resident rooms, nurse’s stations, and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitary
- Support the development of a holistic, interdisciplinary dementia care program
- Verify census accuracy, manage admissions, discharges, leaves of absence, and bed holds
- Assist with safe and timely transfers and discharges
- Coordinate insurance pre-certifications and recertifications
- Interpret and enforce departmental policies with staff, residents, and regulatory agencies
- Participate in policy development and revisions with the Director of Nursing
- Assist during facility surveys/inspections
- Audit clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Participate in the “triple check” billing process and ensure completion of resident charge sheets
- Complete required administrative and medical documentation
- Current, active RN or LPN license in the state of Florida (unencumbered)
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of age-specific resident care and long-term care regulations
- Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and supervisory abilities
- Able to work collaboratively with staff, residents, families, and outside agencies
- Familiarity with nursing standards, medical practices, and relevant laws
