Medical Assistant Training Instructor - Birmingham, AL

MainStreet Family Care runs over 60 fast-growing urgent care and primary care clinics in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Our aim is to continue to grow in the coming years, focusing on expanding healthcare access in rural Southeastern US. Our goal: Speedy recovery for our patients.

Due to our growth, we are looking for a Medical Assistant Program Instructorto join our Training Team! This position will be located at our training center in Birmingham, AL. Our instructors play a pivotal role in the establishment and quality of new and existing urgent care clinics. We are seeking a Program Instructor for our Medical Assistant Program to:

  • Instruct courses and correlating laboratory exercises including didactic and clinical instruction and evaluation.
  • Ensure that the course and clinical laboratory exercises meet course objectives.
  • Motivate and inspire students.

Priorities:

  • 77% - Deliver structured training program (Medical Assistant, Occupational Medicine) to new clinic staff in our training center.
  • 13% - Preparing materials, reporting, and paperwork.
  • 10% - Continuous improvement.
  • 100% - Be a cultural ambassador- lead by example by upholding and instilling MainStreet values of “Wow”, “Heal and Feel”, and “We are Family” with new staff members at all times.

Important Stuff:

  • Our Training Center is in Hoover, AL (just outside of Birmingham) and requires daily in-person attendance (M-F)
  • You will deliver a 5-day curriculum in tandem with another training instructor every week.

Requirements:

  • Minimum - Two (2) years full-time clinical experience as a certified medical assistant and /or registered nurse, including instructional experience in the classroom or clinical setting.
  • Preferred - Five (5) years full-time clinical experience as a certified medical assistant or registered nurse including instructional experience in the classroom or clinical setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform and instruct on a variety of daily tasks associated with Medical Assisting.
  • Broad knowledge of the application of procedures and techniques performed by Medical Assistants.
  • Ability to technically assess student performance in the clinical setting.
  • Ability to understand scientific publications on topics related to medical assisting and nursing.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts involving anatomy, physiology and pathology.

Schedule:

  • Full-time employment, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8am-5pm -- no weekends required! Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
