The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on paver installation experience, and the ability to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, layout plans, and specifications to ensure precise and accurate paver installation, according to design.
- Supervising and coordinating all daily activities of our paver installation crew, directly overseeing their work from start to finish.
- Ensuring meticulous site preparation, proper base installation, and exact layout of pavers, strictly adhering to project plans and industry best practices.
- Operating and training crew members on the safe and efficient use of specialized paver equipment, including compactors, saws, skid steers, and laser levels.
- Monitoring job progress, maintaining our high-quality standards, and strictly enforcing all safety compliance for our crew and work area.
- Communicating effectively with our company's project managers, the General Contractor's site superintendents, and occasionally clients or other subcontractors to ensure seamless project integration.
- Proactively identifying and resolving on-site issues related to paver installation to prevent delays and maintain maximum efficiency.
- Managing and optimizing materials by maintaining accurate records of pavers, aggregates, and other supplies used, and communicating material needs to our office.
- Tracking and submitting accurate labor hours for your crew and providing daily progress reports to our project management team.
- Hiring, mentoring, and developing new crew members who are legally authorized to work in the United States, fostering a skilled and productive team.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in paver or hardscape installation, with at least 1 year in a direct supervisory role.
- Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and detailed paver design documents.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage crew, resources, and project timelines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain composure under pressure in a dynamic construction environment.
- Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Physical ability to work consistently in varying outdoor weather conditions and regularly lift 50+ lbs.
