As the Director of Training & Culture, you will have a crucial impact on how 4,500 part-time and 150 full-time employees present themselves each day to embody the Brooklyn Way. You will be the driving force behind effective training, a cohesive culture, and leadership development that nurtures the talent of tomorrow.
This position collaborates closely with the Assistant General Manager, HR, and department leaders to promote top-tier organizational development that establishes a new benchmark for both the arena and the industry.

Training & Development
- Deliver Brooklyn Way training at the utmost quality throughout all departments.
- Execute training validation to guarantee that staff can perform, not merely complete a course.
- Create customized learning pathways for each level, ranging from first-shift event personnel to senior executives.
- Develop leadership development pipelines to nurture internal talent.
- Motivate employees to express their authentic selves at work.
- Implement succession planning and strategies for the growth of internal talent.
- Serve as the cultural “North Star”, establishing a standard for accountability and pride.
- Spark enthusiasm in employees, encouraging them to view their positions as more than just a source of income.
- Work together with Human Resources to create and enhance recognition systems that acknowledge contributions based on impact rather than mere presence.
- Promote a sense of belonging and inclusivity at every job level and from diverse backgrounds.
- Create frameworks that honor genuine cultural alignment.
- Partner closely with the Assistant General Manager, Human Resources, and departmental leaders to promote positive organizational growth.
- Work together with leaders from operations, guest services, security, and other areas to integrate culture into everyday tasks.
- Leverage data and feedback to enhance training and monitor cultural advancement.
- Create internal communication plans to keep employees motivated and updated.
- Ensure full completion of Brooklyn Way training at 100% with validation for all employees.
- Launch a minimum of 2 mew leadership programs that have measurable adoption.
- Enhance cultural alignment scores on the yearly engagement survey by 10%.
- Minimum of 5 years in organizational development, training, employee engagement, or related fields.
- Proven success driving culture and training at a large scale in fast-paced, guest-facing industries.
- Experience working with unionized workforces is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication and influence across all levels.
- You are a firm believer that training doesn’t conclude once the class finishes.
- You embrace difficult discussions and welcome uncomfortable conversations that foster alignment and a better understanding of different perspectives.
- You flourish in dynamic, ever-changing environments, and embrace unpredictability that you can use to your advantage.
