Summary Of Responsibilities

The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for executing plans to differentiate Chervon North Americas Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) products and solutions in identified market segments to drive new sales and customer retention.

The Associate Product Manager OPE will be responsible for front-end product management, assisting in shaping the multi-generational product plan and portfolio for both Chervon brands and private label brands owned or managed by our retail partners. Primary responsibilities include supporting the development of product positions and features. The position is also responsible for managing the development process through implementation, aligning all stakeholders, communicating the value proposition to the sales team and working with brand and marketing teams to develop communications and sales tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of product strategy including the size of market and competitive analysis, product positioning, retail pricing analysis and competitive modeling;
  • Work to identify new areas of product or technology opportunity, delivering knowledgeable content to highlight markets unmet needs or represent an area of great commercial opportunity;
  • Support the brand and account teams presenting new product launches at key customer meetings and/or helping to prepare presentation assets;
  • Develop innovative solutions that stand out in the marketplace and resonate with the targeted consumer;
  • Provide support within cross functional teams to identify the markets unmet needs and opportunities, creatively identifying the features and benefits that solve them;
  • Participate in the product development process from concept through successful launch, including interacting closely with other functional areas:
    • Brand Managers to understand each brands requirements, innovation plan & category needs;
    • Support Sales Managers with product content and line reviews;
    • Industrial Designers to address the human factors and possibility for design innovations;
    • Engineering to help define product specifications to assure manufacturability.
  • Continuously monitor, develop and maintain competitive landscapes of relevant products and categories;
  • Communicate effectively and quickly with global teams without delay;
  • Work with Brand Managers to develop sales enablement assets focused on helping internal and field sales teams understand categories, users, buyer personas, pains points, and key differentiating features;
  • Assist in planning and preparation for user and market research projects as part of the product development process;
  • Operate as the user and use case expert in assigned categories;
  • Provide product support for sales events, including customer interaction and visits;
  • Gather relevant industry competitive data to provide content for competitive intelligence program, including but not limited to competitive product launches and emerging technologies that have implications to our business;
  • Serve as an expert on current and new product introductions, facilitates industry inquiries, assists sales teams and their customers at trade shows and industry events.

Required Education And Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of professional experience preferably with a durable goods manufacturer or distributor of consumer products.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to collaborate cross functionally.
  • Experience managing product launches, including working within cross-functional teams, a plus.
  • BA/BS required.
  • This position requires approximately 25% travel; some international.
  • Salary Range: $65k to $80k
