General Description Of Duties And Responsibilities
The Human Resource Director is responsible for employee benefits and maintaining personnel records. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of organizing open enrollment, unemployment claims, preparing for appeals, workers compensation and employee claims. The candidate should be versed in payroll, and act as backup.
The ideal individual is highly efficient with a superb skill set, pleasant and able to work with different people and personalities. Will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The person will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. He/she must be creative and enjoy working within a nonprofit environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Have a thorough understanding of policies/procedures/protocols and the execution of them in the day-to-day management of roles.
- Exemplify AIMED Core Values and consistently role models in your day-to-day interactions.
- Become efficient with the Bamboo HR platform.
- Oversee recruitment process through Bamboo.
- Maintain employee HR files in Bamboo.
- Track new applicants process from start to finish in Bamboo.
- Onboarding new hires (make offer and send offer letters, HR orientation, criminal and child background check, gather employee physical, license, insurance, SS card, bank deposit information and complete all necessary new hire paperwork).
- Initiate payroll status form for new hire and terminated employees.
- Maintain benefits plan, enroll in 401K and medical benefits.
- Enter new hires into ADP platform.
- Purge terminated HR/training files.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Credentialed with SHRM HR and understanding of their practices.
- Work with management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Oversee and manage employee performance appraisal systems that drive high performance.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resources management.
- Make sure HR follows 6400/6500 regulations.
- Prepare HR for annual licensing.
- Maintain employee’s license, insurance and registration records and notify employees when renewal is due.
- Enroll new employees into medical benefits and renew during open enrollment.
- Handle workman’s comp claims and follow up.
- Handle unemployment claims and external agency requests.
- Oversee open enrollment and sign-up new hires for benefits.
- Handle employee grievance process.
- Handle external requests for employees regarding HR matters.
- Oversee exclusion monthly reporting.
- Payroll back up and other financial duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Read and interpret documents.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel and Word.
- Calculate figures on a 10-key calculator.
- Use computer software programs and/or applications.
