Responsibilities
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Family Medicine team in Ankeny, IA. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare providers by delivering high-quality clinical care and ensuring a positive experience for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider.
- Room patients, take and record vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.
- Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
- Perform point-of-care testing and collect lab specimens as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Support care coordination and patient education based on provider orders.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and properly prepared between patients.
- Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver excellent patient care.
For CMA:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current certification as a CMA (AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT).
- BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Current LPN license in the state of Iowa.
- BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
