The Payment Operations Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing the setup, performance, and reliability of payment operations across multiple platforms and partners. This role bridges project management, partne r coordination, and technical troubleshooting - ensuring every payment flow is accurately configured, visually aligned, and performing at or above Service Level Agreements (SLA) expectations .
You’ll collaborate with internal teams, third-party processors, and financial partners to set up and maintain payment systems, manage payment image assets, track performance metrics, and ensure a seamless payment experience for clients and end users.

The Payment Operations Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing the setup, performance, and reliability of payment operations across multiple platforms and partners. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, third-party processors, and financial partners to set up and maintain payment systems, manage payment image assets, track performance metrics, and ensure a seamless payment experience for clients and end users.
Key Responsibilities
Project and Partner Coordination
- Lead and track payment setup and onboarding projects with external partners and vendors
- Develop project timelines, manage deliverables, and ensure on-time, accurate implementations
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal technical teams and external partners
- Configure and validate payment methods and data mappings within internal systems and third-party portals
- Conduct quality assurance testing for new payment methods, updates, and releases
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to payment processing or configuration errors
- Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for payment processing accuracy, timeliness, and success rates
- Identify trends or bottlenecks in partner performance and coordinate issue resolution
- Produce regular reports and insights for leadership and partner reviews
- Manage and maintain brand-compliant payment image assets across systems and channels
- Coordinate with design and compliance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Recommend process enhancements to improve payment setup speed, data accuracy, and partner collaboration
- Document procedures, configurations, and playbooks for consistency and scalability
- 3-6 years of experience in Fintech operations, payments, or technical project management
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfort managing multiple partner projects simultaneously
- Hands-on experience with payment systems, processors, or financial APIs is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, data tracking, and performance reporting
- Basic understanding of technical configurations (e.g., JSON fields, sandbox testing, and web portals)
- Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and process improvement skills
- Exceptional problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competitive annual compensation range of $80,000 to $95,000
