About This Role

The Quantitative Analyst supports the national banking team by performing in-depth quantitative analysis for a wide range of bond transactions. This onsite role involves preparing, structuring, and presenting detailed and innovative financing plans tailored to client needs.

The Impact You’ll Make

  • Develop and evaluate financing scenarios and models using Excel and DBC, including financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and bond sizing.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data to define objectives, identify key issues, and formulate well-supported recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues (underwriters, investment bankers) and external stakeholders (issuers, financial advisors, bond counsel, bidders) to execute bond transactions effectively.
  • Perform financial calculations and revisions during bond pricings; ensure accuracy of final pricing, secure underwriter sign-off, and distribute schedules to internal teams.
  • Monitor market conditions and maintain a database of refunding opportunities; apply new financing and optimization strategies to meet client objectives.
  • Assist clients in evaluating financing options by researching and developing creative strategies that align with their unique goals; may require occasional travel and client meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring To Baird

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Math or Economics. 0-5 years industry experience.
  • Series SIE, 50, 52, 63 licensed (or equivalent) or willingness to become licensed within 12 months.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate results under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Bloomberg; familiarity with DBC Finance preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage projects independently or in collaboration with a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across internal teams and with external partners.
  • Knowledge of fundamental investment concepts within the securities industry.
  • Self-motivated, with a demonstrated initiative to seek professional development and growth opportunities.

Compensation And Benefits

  • $54,100 - $76,100 annual salary range
  • Bonus potential up to 15% of base pay
  • Compensation and bonus are commensurate with experience, performance and/or firm profitability
