Based in South Wales you'll help deliver and enhance our flood warning services-ensuring communities receive timely, accurate information when it matters most.
The Warning & Informing Team plays a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and effective communication during emergencies, incidents, and planned exercises. The team supports public safety and organisational resilience by managing information flow and coordinating messaging across stakeholders.
Your Role Will Include
Based in South Wales you'll help deliver and enhance our flood warning services-ensuring communities receive timely, accurate information when it matters most.
The Warning & Informing Team plays a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and effective communication during emergencies, incidents, and planned exercises. The team supports public safety and organisational resilience by managing information flow and coordinating messaging across stakeholders.
Your Role Will Include
- Manage the Warning & Informing Mailbox - coordinate and administer all communications received via the Warning & Informing mailbox to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate responses.
- Monitoring incoming messages and triaging them based on urgency and relevance.
- Liaising with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information for responses.
- Drafting and sending clear, consistent communications aligned with organisational protocols.
- Logging and tracking correspondence to maintain audit trails and support continuous improvement.
- Supporting the development and dissemination of warning and informing materials during incidents or planned exercises.
- Promote the efficient and effective use of resources in order to ensure activities are completed to time and the cost and quality targets.
- Participate in cross team working and seek to influence customers and establish local partnerships to deliver common NRW's objective.
- Co-ordinate and administer internal procedures to ensure that the directorate is capable of responding effectively during a flood event.
- Taking part in our 24/7 Assistant Flood Warning Duty Officer rota, playing a supporting operational role during live incidents
