Mechanical - Capital Engineering Intern:
- Completing an assigned engineering project during the term of the internship
- Contributing to several ongoing capital engineering projects within the plant
- Experience with and exposure to supporting the Project Management Life Cycle, including:
- Preparation of project specifications and requirements
- Project schedule coordination and utilization of Project Management tools
- Installation oversight, project closing activities, and sustainability initiatives
- Valuable insight into large-scale manufacturing facilities, equipment, and safe working practices
- AutoCAD experience - updating existing drawings and creating new drawings
- Exposure to Conveying, combustion, fluid, and pneumatic transfer systems
- Experience with and exposure to the primary components of Equipment Reliability, including:
- Asset management and process improvement
- Capital management and execution
- Contractor integration and management
- Development of machine maintenance best practices (PM, PdM, and more)
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Capability to build and nurture relationships with other functions within Armstrong
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- A track record of leadership through work, school, or extra-curricular activities
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at an ABET accredited program AND be a maximum of 24 months away from graduation
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (cumulative, and within major)
- Previous internship in manufacturing environment
