The Challenge:
The Tech Fellow - Systems Engineer will participate in engineering activities to ensure successful product development and integration, timely execution of programs, and total customer satisfaction. This includes a wide variety of tasks from the systems engineering discipline, and tasks specifically relevant to our avionic products’ domain (Electronic Warfare Self-Protection Systems), where your contributions are central to our success. Tasks may include interfacing with stakeholders, developing requirements, architecture and design, integration, and verification. You may also help create or improve plans and procedures, generate and present briefings, and provide leadership in select areas.

The Challenge:

You may also help create or improve plans and procedures, generate and present briefings, and provide leadership in select areas.
Essential Job Tasks and Duties:
- Identify customer and stakeholder requirements
- Generate system requirements
- Requirements traceability, management, and compliance
- Develop novel system architecture
- Lead system integration and verification testing
- Lead various analyses, trade studies, and problem resolution
- Participate in peer review of work products
- Support engineering proposals
- Develop engineering documentation
- Generate and present project/customer briefings
- Contribute to process improvement
- Gather and report relevant project progress metrics
- Support customer testing as needed
- Special assignments
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 12 years’ Engineering experience in Electronic Warfare OR equivalent experience
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security clearance
- Experience in Systems Engineering for Avionics or similar domain
- Systems Thinking skills (understand the “big picture” and think in the abstract, while being able to work at a detailed level to understand and solve issues)
- Experience developing system architecture and signal processing solutions
- Proficient at writing system requirements and allocating to subsystems and/or components
- Experience integrating and testing in a System Integration Laboratory (SIL) setting to verify software and hardware solution is developed per requirements
- Experience in validation of avionics or software intensive systems
- Experience communicating and presenting complex technical topics across all organizational levels and customers
- Experience in functional and operational gap analysis, as well as data based decision making based on analysis and trade studies
- Experience investigating software stability issues, system anomalies/problem reports, and developing solution to problems
- Experience developing military or commercial avionics
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing to teams, projects, management, and customers
- Ability to work as part of a team or alone
- Ability to work with a minimum of direction (willing to seek out “how” to accomplish tasks)
- Willingness to accept tasks outside regular duties when needed
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Familiarity with MS Office Applications
- Willingness to travel up to 10% both domestic and abroad
- Familiarity or experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
- Certification as an INCOSE CSEP or ESEP
- Experience with on-aircraft Electronic Warfare and Self-Protection Systems
- Familiarity with IBM Rational-DOORS
- Familiarity with JIRA
