Your role as Assistant, Ballpark Operations:

The Assistant, Ballpark Operations serves as a liaison between various departments within the larger Ballpark Operations Department: Event Operations, Facilities/Engineering, Field Operations, Guest Experience & Security & Transportation departments. This position requires keen communication and collaboration skills while overseeing a variety of processes and projects.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Assist with scheduling appointments for site visits by vendors and contractors
  • Assist with the clerical duties, vendor work tickets, bids, and invoices
  • Assist with Post-Season Manual and departmental submissions
  • Assist with Production Notes for Padres games & internal events
  • Assist with seasonal credential and parking permit distribution
  • Accurately catalog security and medical incidents with discretion
  • Compose meeting notes, organize reports and documents
  • Provide accounting, administrative, and reception support
  • Serve as a liaison to the Ballpark Operations Interns
  • Other duties as assigned to support Ballpark Operations management and departments, as needed


Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matters most:

  • Proficient computer skills including moderate experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook, and general knowledge of basic office equipment use including copier, fax, and printer
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with all employees and outside vendors in a collaborative, respectful manner
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on a strict deadline
  • Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance
  • Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
  • Always represents the Club in a positive and professional manner


You will be required to meet the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree, or educational equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year previous experience in an administrative or sports management role
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds

Pay and additional compensation:

Per the California pay transparency law, the hourly rate for this full-time position is $21.06. Eligible overtime, as applicable. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
