DecisiveInstincts, LLC, is a joint venture (ActioNet and Akamai Intelligence) is seeking a Senior Drafter CAD/Design Technician to support engineering teams in Charleston, SC. The technician will independently develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, including wiring diagrams, system schematics, and assembly layouts. This senior-level role ensures design accuracy, compliance with engineering specifications, and proper documentation control. The individual will also mentor junior and mid-level technicians, providing guidance on CAD practices, standards, and workflows.

- Independently develop and revise detailed AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings per engineering specifications.
- Create and maintain wiring diagrams, layouts, system schematics, 3D models, exploded views, and assembly diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with drawing standards, documentation control, and revision management.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to verify design accuracy, manufacturability, and integration.
- Mentor junior and mid-level CAD technicians on best practices, standards, and efficient workflows.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve CAD processes and documentation quality.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience creating technical drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, preferably supporting defense, industrial, or complex engineering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple projects.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling, exploded views, assembly diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Familiarity with DoD drawing standards, documentation control, and revision processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in mentoring and leading junior CAD staff.
