The Athletic Director is responsible for the leadership, programming, and daily operations of the country club’s racquet, tennis pro shop, fitness, and wellness facilities. This role combines the skills of a racquet sports professional with the strategic oversight of a health and wellness director to deliver exceptional programs, member engagement, and facility excellence. The Athletic Director will serve as the ambassador for all athletic offerings, ensuring the club meets both its experiential and financial goals.

The Athletic Director will serve as the ambassador for all athletic offerings, ensuring the club meets both its experiential and financial goals.
Education, Skills And Experience
- Certifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant certifications required (e.g., USPTO – Tennis Instruction Training)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a racquet sports professional and/or fitness/wellness director in a club, resort, or athletic facility.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and achieve revenue targets.
- Skilled in creating engaging athletic programs for diverse member demographics.
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Develop, schedule, and promote a full range of athletic programs including tennis, pickleball, fitness classes, personal training, and wellness initiatives.
- Teach and/or oversee private lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and group programs for all ages and skill levels.
- Create and manage schedules for staff, facilities, and programs.
- Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate all athletic staff.
- Ensure exceptional member and guest service standards at all times.
- Maintain all equipment, courts, and facilities to the highest safety and cleanliness standards.
- Partner with membership and marketing teams to promote programs and attract new members.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for athletic and wellness offerings.
- Manage department budget, monitor revenue goals, and ensure accurate billing for all services.
- Network with community and industry contacts to build partnerships that enhance club offerings.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the tennis pro shop, ensuring exceptional customer service and effective inventory management.
- Combination of base salary, program revenue share, and lesson/clinic commissions.
