Position Overview
Our Experienced Automotive Dealership Parts Counter Person is a customer service role responsible for providing expert assistance to retail, wholesale, and internal customers while maintaining department excellence and driving sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence
Promptly answer telephone calls, online and electronic communications, and provide in-person assistance to retail, wholesale, and internal customers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner
Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty and satisfaction
Make every effort to satisfy each guest's inquiry
Parts Expertise & Sales
Possess a deep understanding of various automotive parts, their functions, and compatibility with different vehicle makes and models
Quickly and accurately identify parts based on customer descriptions and vehicle information
Actively promote sales of automotive parts, accessories, and related products to meet customer needs and increase sales revenue
Achieve Parts Sales Goals
Order Processing & Accuracy
Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source
Process customer orders correctly, including selecting the correct parts, pricing them, and preparing invoices or receipts
Transfer information to proper documents and computer systems
Keep track of orders and communicate delivery times to customers
Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the computer system
Department Maintenance
Maintain the parts department and counter area in a clean and orderly manner
Create and maintain merchandising displays to promote product sales
Follow safety protocols and guidelines
Continuous Improvement
Stay up-to-date with the latest certifications, automotive technologies and industry trends
Comply with company policies and industry regulations
Achieve Customer Satisfaction Goals
Required Qualifications
Strong background in automotive parts and systems, including knowledge of engines, brakes, suspension, transmission, and other key components
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse customers and team members
Proficiency in using computer systems and DMS software for order processing and inventory management
Sales-oriented mindset with proven ability to drive results
Strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements
Physical ability to lift heavy parts and stand for extended periods
Repetitive bending, reaching, and handling of parts
