We are looking for a driven and passionate Project Manager to support our transportation projects that focus on challenging highway, roadway, and interchange projects and pursuits for Virginia municipalities. In this role, you'll oversee and manage transportation projects throughout Virginia and be responsible for managing project teams to perform preliminary and final design engineering as well as, prepare construction plan documents to satisfy requirements for local and state roadway projects.

Your leadership ability will give you the opportunity to lead tasks and/or projects and interface directly with our clients. As a key member of the team, we’ll look to you to

  • Manage the scope, schedule and budget of your projects
  • Take ultimate responsibility for quality on the project, ensuring a quality assurance plan and quality control process is appropriate and in place
  • Communicate with the client to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with local Client Account Managers and Client Service Line leaders to identify and pursue work for you and our staff and may be requested to attend conferences and external events to promote Jacobs in the marketplace

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE ) required or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment; Virginia PE preferred
  • Experience with multi-discipline infrastructure engineering design and construction projects
  • Substantial experience in managing transportation projects with Virginia’s local municipalities and VDOT
  • Established local and DOT client relationships
  • Previous project management experience on roadway design projects including design and plan development of new and rehabilitation highway projects
  • Understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO design guidelines to transportation projects
  • Demonstrated communication and writing skills including technical report writing

The base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
